No breaking news here. More of a developing story. The HTC Sensation XE is a shiny new release that lets you catch up on the latest about their Android flagship. A luxury edition for audiophiles with some extra kick squeezed out of the CPU. Old song to a new tune, if you will. But we wouldn’t frown at the sound of it. After all, it’s the sound that counts. Beats Audio is a big part of the deal in the new Sensation XE. HTC have teamed up with Beats by Dr. Dre to boost the phone’s credentials to audio purists. There’s special sound processing on the inside and a Monster iBeats headset in the box. The other things they tinkered with are the processor and battery.

A Romanian online retailer has listed the MeeGo-running Nokia N9 for €550 on pre-order. If you want a more trustful source, Amazon.de takes pre-orders, too, but it’s demanding €620. This Romanian retailer is taking the N9 pre-orders for €550 (a hat tip to Robert S. for pointing it out). For a gray market price it sounds reasonably for the launch, although it’s more expensive than most of the high-end droids today. The German Amazonalso has the N9 on pre-order, but it’s even more expensive – €620. So these prices should give us the basic idea of what to expect at Nokia N9′s launch. It will cost a small fortune for sure, but we bet it will drop price in a month or so. After all the N9 is a smartphone with limited availability and doubtful support, so pricing should reflect that. Nokia 5140 is the next model in the Nokia line of phones with enhanced durability. It has well-balanced design and more entertaining functions like compass and video camera, but if you have expected something super new – you will be disappointed – this is still a typical Series 40 phone. LG Optimus Pad review

Tablets are killing netbooks, pundits say, and all gadget makers are jumping on the bandwagon. LG, it seemed, were in no particular hurry but now that their Optimus Pad is here, it shows they mean business. The 8.9″ tablet is powered by Tegra 2 and adds a bit of stereoscopic 3D for a dash of excitement. On paper, the LG Optimus Pad is a beast. Other tablets lose out on quite a few specs. The Optimus Pad is powered by NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chipset, which is the norm for droid tablets, as is Android Honeycomb. 5MP cameras are fairly rare though, dual-5MP cameras even harder to find. And they’ll record 1080p in 2D mode when most others stop at 720p. And there’s 720p 3D video capture. The 2MP front-facing camera promises solid video calling experience. Also, a standard miniHDMI port will sure save some adapter-related headaches. There’s USB On-The-Go too, with a cable for that and a miniHDMI cable both included in the bundle. The LG Optimus Pad has the richest tablet package we’ve seen yet. So, the Optimus Pad has a few more tricks than your average tablet. Here’s the summary, along with the downsides.

Nokia X7-00 review: The stealth xpress

Dressed to kill and with a fresh coat of paint on the interface, the Nokia X7 is keen to show there’s still fight left in Symbian. The screen is a definite high point and the stainless steel body is fashioned like a stealth jet fighter. Symbian Anna adds in features that have been lacking in the OS, closing the gap on the competition. The screen impressed us quite a bit as you’ll see in our hardware chapter but that’s not all we liked about the hardware. The software changes are not as far-reaching as we would have liked, but there are some key developments that that give Symbian a usability boost. Here’s the short version of what the Nokia X7 is about and what didn’t work out very well. Despite our complaints, this is the best that Symbian has ever looked and Nokia has picked excellent devices to carry it. While the other one, the Nokia E6, is a business phone through and through, the X7 focuses on the fun stuff. From taking photos and videos, through deeper social networking integration.
